Feeding the homeless will most likely became an offense with a fine up to $300 for any persistent offenders.  The offenders are groups that feed the homeless obviously with some regularity but without any plan to clean up afterward.  Would it also include the kind jester by individuals that offer the homeless some of their lunch?

Apparently business owners and residences have complained about the failure to clean up afterward and questioned the safety of the food that is provided.  The Miami City Commission is considering the proposal requested by the Miami Downtown Development Authority. 

David Karsh, spokesman for Development Authority Chairman Marc Sarnoff indicated that advocacy groups favor the proposal that will require those that feed the homeless to take training.  The training would center on safety of foods offered and clean up.  Without the training you are unauthorized to feed the homeless.

I see no real reason for a requirement such as this if those concerned will only present their case to the homeless advocacy groups.  Don’t we have enough governmental interference without adding more rules and regulations?  Will we continue to walk down the path of “big brother” watching us, correcting us and fining us?
