Do Elementary Students Need Recess

It is interesting that this Webmaster indicated that pediatricians
approve of recess, saying that it helps with imagination and
creativity.
Schools are trimming recess time so students can devote more time to
improve the standardized test scores. I don't know if this is for the
child’s benefit or so the school gets higher marks if the students get
higher marks. Children need a time to relax and they definitely need
more exercise than they appear to be getting.
It may be unfair to blame the No Child Left Behind Act for schools that
prioritize standards. Many students are not interested in and are
unaware of international completion. School administrators are definitely aware of this factor.
Recess benefits include improved learning ability, social development
and health. I would like to know more about the teacher/parent
expressions to abolish recess for safety and over-activity. The whole
classroom is affected when a child with a learning disability disrupts
the class activities because they are distracted and need time-out.
