Excuses You Tell Your Doctor to Escape Embarrassment ****

The things you tell your doctor are important. Sometimes you are embarrassed to tell him that you failed to give his medication as he prescribed it. When that happens you may say the dog ate it. Well why was it in a location for the dog to have access to in the first place. Other times you may say it got dropped down the sink or you got it confused with the medication you give another child.

These are just excuses to help you look better, admit it. They really don’t accomplish that. Your doctor is not that dumb and if he is that dumb, why are you still seeing him? You are just covering (trying) to cover your tracks. The less ethical would use the “A” work. Actually the less knowledgeable are the ones that use words that belong everywhere besides the mouth.
Doctors prescribe medications and tell you to take or give them until they are gone. After that you are either better or you have already scheduled a follow up appointment. Why do we lie about the important things in life? Is it because we think it will help or because we are guilty and it helps to ease the pain.
Whatever the reason is that you have decided (spur of the moment or planed) let me encourage you to tell the truth. If you are medicating yourself or a child, and particularly if you are medicating a child, it is important to do it according to instructions. If you failed, just say you failed and accept the consequences. Your doctor is human too.
