Healthy families from Head to Toe

A healthy family will practice personal hygiene from head to toe.  That means family members are taught to care for every part of the body routinely.

Parents are generally concerned about the child’s head shape at birth.  They express interest and often delight over lots of hair and eye color.  They check to make sure that a newborn has ten of both fingers and toes.

As children grow and develop parents are concerned that the child's feet are not trapped in a shoe that is either too small or too large.  Shoes that are too tight and short will cause deformities of the feet.

The toes are particularly at peril if trapped in shoes that are too short. They will be cramped and scrunched into a space that fails to allow for growth.  The bones are forming and can be permanently damaged if trapped in too small a space.

Moving in the opposite direction, the mouth should have regular appointments with a dentist.  A mouth that is too small may need the help of braces for the teeth.  The mouth can be lovely and a good smile is also important.  Straight teeth contribute enormously to creating a pleasant smile.

Other than the shape of the mouth and the teeth, the daily care of the teeth is a learned behavior.  Parents teach good hygiene by example and diligent assignment.  Overseeing the child’s daily practice and supervising the activity is necessary to begin with.

Praise for a job done well by the child that performs the head to toe practice of being healthy will realize greater success with their children.  Praise can move a mountain of opposition.

I love hearing from you.  Please leave me a message.
