Families that focus on faithfulness and pray together have greater “stay together” expectations.  Families that attend church have a higher percentage of marriages that last.  Families without some problems are almost nonexistent if not nonexistent.  Those families without problems (evident to the rest of us) may just be successful at covering their problems up.

If we dwell on problems without attacking them or searching for a solution they will just continue to grow.  Eventually they will surface and when that happens there is no telling what the outcome will be.  Emotional problems and divorce often result.

Communication, fidelity and finances are probably the three biggest factors that cause problems.  Regular communication  or the lack of communication was one of the major differences discussed in the book “Men are from Mars/Women are from Venus”.  This popular book zeroed in on the differences in the sexes ten or fifteen years ago.

Fidelity, loyalty, faithfulness, reliability, trustworthy, commitment these are all words that we know and understand.  Yet all too often one partner will break that bond for one reason of another.  Often they deeply regret it and many times it happens without any thought of hurting others.

Finances often cause families to drift apart.  Sometimes the location of employment separates partners causing stress.  More often however, families live beyond their income.  They bite off more than they can chew.  Times like these, when our nation is in such debt and getting deeper, families must cut back and plan to use their income wisely.

Families that focus on faithfulness in regard to finances, fidelity or communication, they have a better chance of a lasting relationship and a stable home for their children.
