Without this article I did not understand the importance and helpfulness of the bat. I have noticed bats in my neighborhood on past occasions without thinking of them in a positive way. Actually my thoughts were those of fear. This Webmaster has relieved my anxiety. If you too are a Gardner or love the outdoors consider attracting a bat colony and reduce the number of unwanted and harmful insects.
The bat is very good at catching the mesquite
that carries the West Nile Virus. Bats feed at night and need a lighted area to attract insect for their food. Their echolocation systems are the means by which they find insects.
Summer is the time to attract a bat colony. They hibernate in winter and one or two pups are born in the spring. Pups may fall from the roost but mothers are watchful and will return them if humans do not interfere. Provide a water source and night lighting if you wish to attract these insect-eating creatures. The extra effort of providing a bat house that faces east, southeast or south will attract these night flyers.
Perennialflowergardening.com is new to the web. Already the articles indexed are intriguingly titled. I have read several and find them a resourceful gardening tool. Visit this Website and leave your comments for the Webmaster's consideration. All webmasters love comments. They are a sign of interest and help develop a following.
