Many symphony orchestras members began by learning to play the piano as children. Those that continued to take lessons often learned to play other instruments. High school bands have many talented members that were originally piano students. Colleges and universities now give scholarships for talented students. Both the college and the high school musicians often join the local jazz band or church orchestra.
People communicate with one another through music almost as much as verbal expression. There is a music for every personal preference. Some like loud and others want soft and soothing music. Some prefer instrumental only and others must have a vocalist to enjoy the music. Lyrics are like pictures painted with words. Instrumental compositions either have a composition history or allow the mind to be creative and imaginative.
Vocalist train many hours to perfect their voice. The very talented may even insure their voice. Julie Andrews
voice is unmistakable hers. Dolly Parton’s voice can be separated from any other easily. Barbara Streisand’s voice has made her more famous than her nose or her political views. These female vocalist are just a few examples of musically talented super stars. There are many others of both sexes. The voices of opera performers and those of the untrained farm boy all cause our hearts to beat faster and our heads to spin.
Music is in the air each morning. The roster crows and the birds sing. It is a natural event for a housewife to sing while doing the dishes. Shower singers are both male and female as well as young and old. Without music we would flounder.
