Many Cookbooks and those Special Recipes

Over the years I have collected many cookbooks and have special recipes in each that I favor. I usually pencil my favorite ones in the front pages for easy reference. I also have make 3 X 5 cards for each cookbook with the name and page of all my favorites. I keep these in the front of my recipe card file. This helps me with my planning at Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as other special occasions.
It was about three years ago that my daughter asks me to record most of my favorite recipes as my Christmas gift to her. You might like to do something similar for your daughter
in law and daughter. I know it is sometimes difficult to share with a daughter in law, but if you do it in the right spirit she will accept the gift and be very grateful. That way she can make those dishes her hubby (your son) enjoyed from childhood and instead of you getting the praise, it goes to his wife.
Also as the grandchildren grow up you can pass copies off to each of them. College and University kids are always cooking in the dorm. They need a few easy to prepare stews, soups, or beans & rice dishes. I published my Red Beans & Rice recipe last December 22nd. If you are a new visitor to my Website check it out. It is a favorite of my husband and he is from Red Beans and Rice country, New Orleans. So it must be quite good for him to ask when am I going to make it again? He always says it is better the next day and yet he says that after each additional meal. When the last helping is dipped up, he repeats, “That was better than the last time”. I’ve gotten to where I agree with him and even believe him. I’m not much at arguing.
