Summer cleaning is an arduous task, but can be done with a goal in mind and with help from the kids. Families are very busy during these months and have very little time to spend cleaning. The outside of your house comes alive when the gardens start to bloom and this reminds us that in summer, we have to take care of the outside as well as the inside.

Try to look for discounts on cleaning your carpets. Try and get good deals on window washers and gutter cleaners as this is important in maintaining the beauty and maintenance of your home. There are also several other things your kids can do to help. They can work on weeding, or watering the plants or picking up small debris.

Check on your air conditioner. With summer temperatures sure to soar, this will be important for your comfort. You can clean you chimney before the next winter's onslaught of fires. Wash the outside of your house with a power washer. Another time consuming job is cleaning the blinds. There is no easy way to do this other than using a spray bottle of water and detergent and one by one, clean the blinds. Your ceiling fans also need attention as dust easily gathers on the top side of the blades.

Another way of cleaning is to go through all closets and throw or give away the clothes that the kids have outgrown. This is another way the kids can help. Ask them to try on clothes to help decide which ones no longer fit them.
